Description

Available for lease in Franklin Hills, this gated, two-bedroom Craftsman home sits above the street amid mature succulents and towering cacti. Designed by Los Angeles architect Kenneth Lind and inspired by the work of Greene and Greene, this special home has been called home by Hollywood stars, and now is your opportunity to make this your new address. Its woodwork, fixtures, and finishes give it a character that is hard to find in a rental. Inside, diagonal oak floors lead to a living room with a vaulted ceiling, exposed beams, and a river rock gas fireplace. Solid Douglas fir doors with hammered bronze knobs, stained glass fixtures, and artistic tile reliefs bring detail to every area of this home. Oak, Douglas fir, and redwood are used throughout, while large windows fill the home with natural light. The spacious bathroom pairs slate tile floors and handcrafted tile with a clawfoot tub, brass fixtures, and a large walk-in shower. Cedar-lined closets, storage nooks, Elfa shelving, central heat, and air conditioning add everyday comfort. Outside, detailed woodwork, copper gutters, and a carved owl perched on the chimney carry the craftsmanship through to the exterior. A wraparound deck offers city and sunset views, and a hot tub sits beneath the trees. The detached two-car garage features exposed wood beams that echo those in the house. Restaurants, shops, and nightlife along Sunset Boulevard and Fountain Avenue are nearby, with Griffith Observatory, the Greek Theatre, and the Hollywood Bowl within easy reach. A distinctive Los Feliz home with a place in Hollywood history, now available to lease.
