Most shops and some of the restaurants have outdoor patios, which are pretty much pet-friendly. East Village has a pretty laid-back atmosphere and you can go out to catch a baseball game or something at the local pub. There are no massive nightclubs until you go further into downtown (opening soon) and you will love Gaslamp Quarter a few blocks away. Whether you are a baseball fan or not, you need to visit Petco Park and San Diego Padres because it offers an amazing experience for everyone. Other places include Bub’s right across the street from M21, and next to the Ballpark, Knotty Barrel and East Village Tavern-Bowl a few steps away, Bootleggers, Punch Full Social for karaoke, Bar Basic for Pizza, and Amplified Garden & Beer Garden for live music. Too many to name here. There are loads of markets and delis in the area that are super walkable. Don’t forget that downtown San Diego is relatively small: if you need anything across the city, whether you are going over to the Marina District or you just want to hop over to Little Italy to grab dinner and bring it back home, it is so easy to get around the village.
